Brief Description:

This presentation will look at overall seaplane accident trends and regulatory issues. The presenter will share personal experiences in the challenges of decision making in seaplane operations. The presentation will further look at critical phases of flight where loss of control accidents are prevalent and the best practices during these phases of flight. The presentation will review why wings stall and stall avoidance, take off and landing performance and water operations. An emphasis will be placed on amphibious aircraft operation with respect to gear position in preparation for landing.
