Title:
Call To Action In Todays Airspace
Topic:
What About All These Pilot Deviations
Speaker(s):
Jurg Grossenbacher
Brief Description:
In the first six months of FY 2025 we experienced 15 Pilot Deviations at our Control Towered Airports in Wisconsin. Jurg Grossenbacher from the Milwaukee FAA will discuss why these Pilot Deviations are happening at such a high rate but more importantly, what we can do to avoid them in the first place. We need to work together to reverse this negative trend in order that we avert catastrophic accidents at these airports as air traffic has been increasing year over year nationwide.
We will cover the following topics:
•Complex Environment
•Distractions
•Humans make mistakes
•Lack of Preparation
•Lack of Training/ Proficiency
•Lack of SOPs
