Flying safely is about risk management, and that requires risk identification, assessment, and mitigation. Learn techniques to quantify and mitigate the risk, or decide when not to fly. Attendees will participate in an exercise using a Risk Assessment Scorecard.

From Katella Ave, turn south on Lexington Dr toward Los Alamitos JTFB.

Continue ahead, wind around barricade, and show your driver's license to the guard.

Continue south on Lexington Dr, turn right on Liberty Ave, and left on Gettysburg Ave.

Continue south, then turn right on Constitution Ave at the fire station.

Continue west past large hangars on your left, to Civil Air Patrol Bldg on your left at 3976 Constitution Avenue. This event will be approximately 1.5 hours.

Presenter: Rhon Williams is a Glider Flight Instructor for Civil AirPatrol, as well as an FAAST Representative. Rhon holds Commercial-SMEL, Helicopter, Glider,  and CFI-AIG pilot ratings and is an A&P mechanic. He is co-owner of a Cirrus SR22, in which he and his wife fly throughout the country. Rhon is also an active experimental homebuilder having completed a plans-built Early Bird Jenny which first flew in December 2015.
