Brief Description:

Don't miss this rare opportunity to land at an active Air Force Base! Please join us for safety presentations.

Jurg Grossenbacher, Milwaukee FAA will speak on the Approach and Landing criteria that is causing so many accidents that could be avoided through proper training. We will go into stabilized Approach criteria.

Joey Riciotti from the National Weather Service will tell us about the weather hazards as we enter our winter flying seasons. Join us as we are informed of some of the how's, what's, where's and why's of these weather phenomena!

Scott Cabot will speak on the topic of National Airspace and the more complex airspace that you encounter such as Military Operation areas, Firing Ranges and Restricted airspace as well as Temporary Flight Restrictions.

The folks of the National Guard will brief us on the Volk MOA and is special procedures as well as giving you a Tour of their Air Traffic Control facilities.

Levi Eastlick, will speak in detail about the FAA WINGS program and show you the best way to stay proficient.

Seminar will be at the Volk Field Conference Center, Building #475

All attendees must register with the National Guard before October 1st. Registration instructions are located on the WisDOT's website; https://wisconsindot.gov/pages/doing-bus/aeronautics/trng-evnts/ifrvfr-sem.aspx

Driving Instructions: Take exit 55 off of Interstate 90/94 for County Road C toward Camp Douglas/Volk Field and drive in toward the guard shack and gate. Gate attendant will provide directions to the building.

Rain Date is Sunday October 6th.

There is a total of four (4) hours of safety presentations for this event.
