Title:
Vestibular Illusions
Topic:
Human Information Processing, Sensing And In-Flight Illusions
Date and Time:
Sunday, October 27, 2024, starting at 15:00 Central Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Dennis Miller, CFI, and 2023 National FAASTeam Representative of the Year
Brief Description:

A significant number of fatal loss-of-control accidents in general aviation may have been caused by pilots responding inappropriately to illusions.

A basic understanding of how humans process information, sense and perceive stimuli can help pilots understand how they may be vulnerable to in-flight illusions. Education and training in coping in these situations can help improve pilot response and prevent loss of aircraft control.

This is a two hour seminar.
