This is the Kentucky Pilots Association monthly meeting at the Samuels Field / Bardstown Airport. Our organization aims to promote safety in aviation, introduce our youth to aviation and the opportunities there, and foster camaraderie within the pilot community.
When we have a WINGS event, we invite pilots from all surrounding airports, whether they are KPA members or not. Snacks will also be provided.
Our presenter this month is Rick Markle. Rick started flying in 1979, soloing at the age of 16. He has flown planes from 16 to 450 hp. He is an A&P, IA, has worked on aircraft for over 35 years. He has worked on many different vintage aircraft restorations, most notably, the Steve Parker G Model Beech Staggerwing that is on display at the entrance of the Beechcraft Heritage Museum. He owned a full-service aircraft repair facility maintaining 35 aircraft of all makes and models.
