HNL FSS open with reduced staffing

Many of you have heard that the Honolulu AFSS will be closed after Feb. 1. However, it appears it was not widely known that after Feb. 1 the facility will still be operating with reduced staffing.

After Feb. 1 two flight service specialists at the Honolulu site will continue to provide services to pilots, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. The doors to the building will be closed to all walk-in pilots. No supervisors at the site will be retained after Feb. 1. The two specialists who remain are under the direction of management in the Lockheed Martin Prescott (PRC) Hub. The two specialists in Honolulu augment the staffing of flight service specialists who handle services to the Hawaiian Islands and the Pacific from the PRC Hub. This arrangement will continue indefinitely.
