This notice is of concern to all air crews concerning the illumination of their aircraft by lasers, the Eastern Region of the FAA has seen a continued increase in the number of incidents involving the unauthorized illumination of aircraft by lasers. These incidents appear to be increasing due to availability of sophisticated laser devices to the general public.
Please be aware that exposure to laser illumination may cause hazardous effects such as distraction, glare, and the possibility of permanent visual impairment affecting an air crews ability to perform their duties.

Air crews are also strongly encouraged to complete the Laser Beam Exposure Questionnaire and faxing it to 202-267-5289.
