Ever played the “What if” game?

Such as, what if I won the lottery and bought my own jet?

The “what if” game lets you look ahead to the immediate future, select the issues you might confront, and think of possibilities.

Why play “What if?”

  • It’s an excellent strategy for runway safety and risk management,
  • Prepares pilot’s for making choices when needed,
  • Promotes sound judgment – you plan those choices when you are not under pressure,
  • Covers many bases, not just one option,
  • Improves situational awareness,
  • Heightens pilot awareness

“What if”

  • I don’t get the runway assignment I am expecting?
  • I have engine trouble on the taxi out?
  • My passengers are distracting when I am anticipating a clearance?

By playing the “What if” game before you move on an airport,

YOU JUST WON THE LOTTERY - THE LOTTERY OF SAFETY!
