SUBJECT:  PENSACOLA BEACH PRACTICE AREA/NAVY AIRCRAFT EN ROUTE TO NOLF CHOCTAW
  CANCELLATION:  FEBRUARY 27, 2014

The purpose of this Letter to Airmen is to inform all participants and users of the Beach Practice Area (see Pensacola TRACON Letter to Airmen 11-01) of the planned increase of high performance military aircraft operating in close proximity to the defined boundaries of the Beach Practice Area.  These military aircraft will be operating at or below 3000’ MSL between NAS Pensacola (NPA) and NOLF Choctaw (NFJ), and Eglin AFB (VPS) and NFJ on routes immediately west, east, and north of the Beach Practice Area. (see Attachments 2 and 3)

Increased Awareness must be maintained by all participants while operating in the Beach Practice Area to remain within the defined Beach Practice Area to avoid these aircraft.

Beach VFR Practice Area is bound on the east by the Navarre Bridge west to the intersection of Highway 399 (Midway Antenna) and Highway 98 and from Highway 98 to three (3) nautical miles south of the beach.  Altitudes are surface to 3,000 feet (MSL).  See Attachment 1.

Pilots departing Pensacola Regional Airport should advise Pensacola Tower of the particular practice area requested.  Pilots departing outlying airports should advise Pensacola TRACON.
