Brief Description:

Learn how to plan and prepare for a safe cross-country flight of 2,000 nm and back in a small single-engine plane. Whether IFR or VFR, there are important steps in order to be ready for changing weather and other surprises. Flying in and out of the “busiest airport in the US” during AirVenture week in July can also be a challenge with many learning moments.

Seminar will be held in the lobby of the Reid-Hillview Airport Terminal building. From Highway 680, exit onto Capital Expressway. Travel Southeast on Capital Expressway. At Cunningham Ave. turn Right. Ried-Hillview Terminal building is straight ahead then slightly left.

John McGowan is a Commercial/Instrument and Multi rated pilot with 1600 flying hours over 50+ years. He is also an FAA Ground Instructor. He received his FAA Master Pilot award in 2017 and has owned a Piper Comanche based at Reid Hillview for 40 years.
