Title:
EAA Chapter 72 IMC/VMC Meeting
Topic:
The Three E's Expanded Envelope Exercises
Date and Time:
Wednesday, April 8, 2026, starting at 18:00 Mountain Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Richard Martin
Brief Description:

The Expanded Envelope Exercises (E3) developed by Ed Wischmeyer, Ph.D., strive to prevent LOC-I by expanding the pilots' comfort zone in the aircraft. This is accomplished by conducting exercises in a progressive manner that slowly allows the pilot to become more comfortable in flight attitudes closer to the edge of an aircraft's performance envelope. We will practice these exercises in a full motion simulator.
