Topic:
VFR: Gauging your Remaining Fuel and IFR: The End Is Niagara
Date and Time:
Thursday, November 19, 2026, starting at 19:00 Central Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Larry Martin
Brief Description:

VFR: You’re in cruise above a marine layer when ATC relays that your FBO found a fuel cap on the ramp—and it may be one of yours. The gauges show half on one side, a bit less on the other. Do you continue to VFR? Turn around? Or declare an emergency and descend through the clouds.....

IFR: The engine just threw a metaphorical wrench into your honeymoon plans while in hard IMC. It’s not dead, but it’s no longer healthy. The nearest airport has the worst consequences if its health declines. But the better ones require it hanging in until you get closer. Where will you go?

Members watch 2 short videos scenarios and discuss how they would respond to the given situations. This is an open forum for free ideas and we all learn from shared experience!  All are welcome to join in. With dynamic discussions of both topics' this seminar will be 2 hours long and enhance everyone's education.
