Brief Description:
When there is no control tower, who is responsible for maintaining safety? Operating at a non-towered airport requires pilots to communicate effectively, maintain situational awareness, and work cooperatively with other aircraft. Without Air Traffic Control sequencing traffic, every pilot shares the responsibility for maintaining an orderly and safe traffic flow.
This seminar examines recommended traffic pattern procedures, CTAF communications, collision avoidance techniques, airport scanning, pattern entry, runway selection, right-of-way rules, and common pilot errors encountered at non-towered airports. Through practical scenarios and real-world examples, attendees will learn techniques that improve safety while operating at both familiar and unfamiliar airports.

Please bring something to take notes with (pencil and paper recommended). The seminar is held inside an airplane hangar, so we recommend wearing light, comfortable clothing, as temperatures may become warm during the presentation.
