Title:
Mental Toughness To Prevent Accidents
Topic:
Using Mental and Cognitive Skill to Maintain Safe Flight
Date and Time:
Tuesday, February 10, 2026, starting at 19:00 Pacific Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Jay Mason - CFII-MEI
Brief Description:

Many aircraft accidents display signs of giving up, combined with a lack of awareness of ‘stuff happens’ and being prepared for it. Pilots can be better prepared for dealing with issues in the air by developing ‘Mental Toughness’, much like many leaders in sports and the performing arts. CFI Jay Mason will discuss developing this mindset, and will review several recent accidents and incidents where having it might have made all the difference.
