Title:
Monthly Safety Meeting Gainsville Flyers Stabilized Approaches and Go Around
Topic:
General Aviation Joint Safety Commitee's Hot Topic - Standardized Approach and Landings
Date and Time:
Wednesday, May 21, 2025, starting at 18:00 Eastern Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Michael Hare
Brief Description:

Join in with retired USAF Pilot and Delta Airlines Captain Michael Hare.  One of the most effective ways to prevent becoming a statistic is to GO AROUND if something is not right. If you choose to continue with an unstabilized approach, you risk landing too high, too fast, out of alignment with the runway centerline, or otherwise being unprepared for landing.  Moreover, the probability of being unstable can DOUBLE as you increasingly fly above a 3:1 flight path profile.
