Brief Description:

This program explains the importance of proper return to service determination and documentation. 

Teaching Points:

  • The pilot’s responsibility to ensure the mechanic properly documents the aircraft’s return to service.
  • The return to service must be documented in the aircraft logbooks.
  • Flying aircraft that have not been properly returned to service is not only contrary to regulations but may very well pose significant safety hazards.
  • Employee reporting system is to setting up and nurturing a positive safety culture.

A Safety Call for Action - This is a public education campaign emphasizing the dangers posed by Communication misunderstandings, and inadequate pre-flight planning particularly with respect to NOTAMs.
