Brief Description:

The pool training exercises include:

  • Escape from a simulated aircraft submersion
  • Personal floatation device deployment
  • Raft boarding techniques
  • Experience an emergency breathing device

You will do the pool elements in your street clothes, so plan accordingly; bring a complete change of clothes, towel, and anything else you choose. 

For optimum training experience, you are encouraged to view the video titled Surviving on Open Water, located at https://www.faa.gov/pilots/training/airman_education/aircrewsurvivalvideos prior to this training.

Pre-registration is necessary, Attendance is limited to 40 participants for the event with registration closing at noon on Wed, April 26.

Directions to Venue:

Water Survival Training on April 26 will be at the Anchorage FSDO 6th floor conference room (must attend classroom training to qualify for the pool session) 5pm-8pm

Day two April 27th, will be at the UAA swimming pool (Seawolf Sports Complex) located at, 2801 Spirit Way, Anchorage, AK 1pm-6pm  

*This is a two day event with classroom instruction on Wed. April 26 and pool exercises on April 27th

*You must pay a UAA parking fee for this event
