Flight instructors with renewal dates of Jan. through Apr. 2006 can renew their certificates at MACTS and retain their same renewal month.  Current CFIs with renewal months outside the 90-day window can renew early at MACTS, but they will get a new renewal date of 31 January, 2008.  CFIs who want to renew at MACTS must contact the Greater St. Louis Flight Instructors Association at: www.gslfia.com, or call: (314) 286-9905.  There is a charge for CFIs who wish to renew at MACTS.  Renewing CFIs should remember to bring their CFI certificate, pilot certificate, and current picture ID [drivers license or approved ID specified in 61.3(a)(2)].  CFIs holding a current medical will also need the medical date and the name of the medical examiner (a current medical is not required for renewing a CFI certificate).  Start time for renewing CFIs will be 7:30 on Saturday, January 7th.  This will allow for processing the renewal application and explaining the process.
