Brief Description:

The PROTE is a traveling altitude "chamber" which is capable of producing hypoxic environments at ground level by altering the fraction of ambient oxygen. This avoids some of the risks associated with pressurized altitude chamber training.

The FAA FAASTeam would like to thank Rainier Flight Service for the opportunity to host this event at their facility, and their continuous support to aviation safety in the Seattle Area.

This is a 4 days Event (May 10, 11, 12, & 13).

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: 

1.You must be at least 18 years old (NO EXCEPTIONS).
2. Have a Current FAA Class I, II, OR III Physical or Basic Med (NO EXCEPTIONS).

3. If individuals are interested in academics only, they will be allowed to sit in without any restrictions on age or medical.

  1. PROTE Training options:

    1. Hypoxia Recognition (5 Students every 30 minutes). This WILL be done by scheduling students to show up in 30 minute blocks.
