WINGS Seminar Schedule

5:00: Registration, refreshments, socializing in the Blue Hangar. Take a tour of a unique Stinson restoration maintenance hangar owned and operated by Billy Carter.  Billy is nationally known as the Stinson restoration guru and has performed numerous modifications of Stinson Aircraft. Visit his facility and the airport grounds.

5:30: Sugar Valley Hospitality Dinner: Join your fellow airmen for a light sit-down dinner at the Sugar Valley Blue Hangar offered by local aviation businesses and the benevolent Sugar Valley folks. Meet the newest member to the FAA Safety Team, Sandra White, who is also a recently FAA Certified Advanced Ground Instructor.

6:15  Flight in the Danger Zone: Non Towered Airport Operations Presented by Bob Sutherlin, FAASTeam Program Manager and ATP/CFII .  Operations at and near non-towered airports pose the greatest risk of a mid-air collision. Discuss best practices and procedures, review FAA regulations, learn recommended communication procedures in the airport traffic area, and learn how to be a good neighbor to corporate aircraft and LSA owners.  This seminar always generates good discussions by all airmen. Don't miss it.

7:10 What You Can't See CAN Hurt You: Night Flying:  Bob Sutherlin. Fall is just around the corner and so is early nightfall. Night flying can be very challenging for any pilot, amateur or professional. Find out why so many pilots say, "There is no such thing as VFR Night Flying." Attend this seminar and learn the risks and hazards of flying at night. Discover how you can mitigate these risks by developing some simple rules.

7:45 Conclusion: Questions/Discussion
