Mr. Burt Compton with the Soaring Safety Foundation has been literally all around the world doing safety audits for soaring clubs. He will share some of the good, the bad and the ugly he has experienced. He will discuss some characteristics that can help a flying club be well managed, safe and productive. His advise will be applicable to any flying club or anyone thinking of starting a flying club.
Burt owns and operates Marfa Gliders in Marfa, TX. He serves as a Designated Pilot Examiner and an FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) Representative.
The Soaring Society of America annual awards dinner will follow at 6:00 PM.
