Driving: Exit 101 Freeway at Los Posas, head south on Los Posas. Turn right at traffic light at Pleasant Valley.  Turn right at traffic light at Airport Way. Dept of Airport Building is last building on the left where Airport Way dead ends at Durley. Flying: A three minute walk from the walk-through gate adjacent to Channel Island Aviation. Walk out to Durley, turn left on Durley. The Dept of Airports Building is on your right at the intersection of Durley & Airport Way. Upstairs Meeting Room of Dept of Airport Building at KCMA

                                       A Ventura County 99s Pilot Proficiency Class

This is a class for pilots and student pilots flying VFR in Southern California who are interested in flying comfortably and safely in and around Class B airspace. Join Michael Phillips as he “chair flies” several alternative routes through the Los Angeles and San Diego Class Bravo airspace and discusses changes in the Terminal Area Charts and how these changes impact your flying.

Instructor: Michael Phillips, CFI, CFII, ASMEL, Glider, Columbia/Cessna 400 Factory Trained Instructor, Chief Flight Instructor for the Cessna Advanced Aircraft Recurrent Training Program (CAART) and a charter member of the Society of Aviation and Flight Educators (SAFE). Michael is a seasoned teaching professional with a passion for aviation and all phases of flight instruction. He has a diverse background which provides him with the ability to work with a wide variety of personalities and backgrounds. He has been a Certified Flight Instructor since 1975. He has had an opportunity to fly and teach in a number of regions of the country which provides him with an understanding and appreciation for weather and challenges that other parts of the United States offer to pilots. He specializes in training in Columbia/Cessna/Corvalis aircraft and other Technically Advanced Aircraft as well as transition training for all Garmin GPS units, G1000, Avidyne, Aspen and Bendix King equipped aircraft. He is the Managing Partner and Chief Flight Instructor at Aviation Instruction Simulator Training and is on the teaching staff at CP Aviation where he teaches beginning, instrument and commercial students and gives CFI and tail wheel training at the Santa Paula Airport. A Certified Flight Instructor for thirty-five years he is a Master Instructor and an FAA Gold Seal Instructor with 8,600 total hours and over 6,500 hours of dual given. www.aviationsimulatortraining.com
 
This program is one of a series of classes in the Ventura County 99s 13th Annual Pilot Proficiency Classes, a series of 19 seminars from January through April.   There is a fee for all classes except the "Understanding Fog" class on January 23rd.  Please go to our registration web site at www.ennect.com/e2061  and click on the class schedule tab for fee information which appears at the end of the class title. The FAA does not permit us to include fee information here. 
 
Some classes fill to capacity quickly. Please register for the seminar at least 24 hours in advance to ensure we have seats for everyone at  www.ennect.com/e2061.  We cannot guarantee a seat  to people who do not register in advance.  If seats are available, we will gladly accept payments and registration from walk-ins at the door.
