Brief Description:

Potomac TRACON brings back a modified Operation Raincheck event.  Attend a briefing about ATC operations in the DC metro area, ask questions of FAA management, controllers, FSDO, Flight Service and security elements.  Observe ATC traffic simulations and take a brief tour of the 3rd busiest approach control facility in the United States!

Event is open to pilots and their guests age 12 and older.  ALL PILOTS AND GUESTS MUST BE U.S. CITIZENS and have government issued photo identification.

All pilots and their guests must be registered.  Walk-ups will be turned away.

Demand for this event will exceed capacity.  If you remain registered and do not attend you will be taking a seat away from someone else.   If you become aware that you or any of your guests will not be able to attend, please re-visit this web page and cancel the registration of you and/or your guest(s).  If this event shows full please check back often as canceled reservations are made re-available.   After close of business Wednesday, October 10th, 2012 no new registrations will be accepted.

The seminar is scheduled from 1:00PM to 3:00 PM.  Please plan your arrival to our facility at approximately 12:30PM.  Due to the size of the group it will take time for everyone to check in through security.   Please be seated in the conference room located in the main lobby prior to 1:00 PM.

Check-in and security screening will be conducted in the guard shack at the entrance to the property.  All persons entering the building will have to pass through a metal detector and are subject to additional search/inspection.  Cameras, cell phones, bags, briefcases and basically anything you might carry except medical necessities  ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING.  Please leave everything except yourself in the car or airplane.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.  Handicapped parking is available on the premises.  Vehicles parking on the premises will be searched/inspected.  For more information contact randolph.horner@faa.gov.

If you are flying to HEF (inside SFRA) or HWY (outside SFRA) you need to be tied down and ready to leave the airport prior to 12:00 PM.   Both airports are aware of this event and will negotiate transportation issues.  Contact the FBO directly for details.

Tour groups are reminded that they will be in a restricted area of a government building that conducts live air traffic control.  Noise SHALL be kept below distracting levels.

Free refreshments will be served in the cafeteria.  Donations accepted.

Potomac TRACON hats, mugs, shirts, etc will be available for sale.  Cash and checks accepted.
