Although PC-based flight simulations have been available for 30 years, many pilots, instructors, and flight schools don't understand how best to use these tools in real-world flight training and pilot proficiency programs. This presentation explains how PC-based simulations like X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator can complement flight training and help pilots maintain proficiency. The discussion is based on the speaker’s recently published book Scenario-Based Training with X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator: Using PC-Based Flight Simulations Based on FAA-Industry Training Standards. As the title suggests, the talk explains and emphasizes the FITS concept and the use of scenarios

The webinar is interactive and can be viewed on either a PC or a Mac (10.5 or later). A high speed Internet connection is required. Speakers are required. A microphone is not required to participate or ask questions. Participants will be able to ask questions by typing (text) their questions as explained by the moderator at the beginning of the webinar. No technical skills are needed. Registration on FAASafety.gov is not required for this event. There is no fee for this event.
