Additional Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s):
One of the most prestigious honors in aviation today also happens to be one of the greatest achievements in aviation. The Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award recognizes pilots who have contributed to building and maintaining the safest aviation system in the world, through practicing and promoting safe flight for 50 consecutive years or more. The award, which is issued by the Federal Aviation Administration, is named in honor of Wilbur and Orville Wright, two early pioneers of flight.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Eastern Region FAA Safety Team will be presenting this prestigious award to a local aviator. The recipient will be introduced by Carol Boshart and  the award presented by Guido Hassig.

The award presentation will be followed by a seminar conducted by FAASTeam Lead Representative Rollie Zavada, his latest seminar is titled "Lessons From A Legend." Amelia Earhart's flight into History precipitated many books analyzing this remarkable woman's personal life and progressive beliefs as well as her accomplishments and record setting flying achievements.  Flying in the early 1930s was very challenging and Amelia's flying record established some positive guidelines and contained some blemishes that give us an opportunity to learn from another pilot's experiences.  The talk will focus on her flying career and many flight incidents and conclude with the probable causes of her demise in her final flight to Howland Island.

This event is sponsored by Boshart Enterprises. Special thanks to Gene Benson, FAA Safety Team Lead Representative for coordinating and organizing the event.
