Additional Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s):
Our common goal, aviation safety, is well served when we are able to combine our resources, talent, and information to target areas of pilot skills or knowledge that accident statistics and causal factors suggest are weak. Together as a Team the Instructors and Designated Pilot Examiners will combine extensive knowledge with sound judgment to provide the most comprehensive pilot training followed by reliable and effective evaluation.
We'll begin this CFI Workshop with discussions of local interest to CFIs including; local safety concerns, ATC operations and FAA ROC reports.
FAASTeam Lead Representative and Workshop Facilitator Bill Geary will present Workshop Module 4; Core Topics 7 & 8 , the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and Security Related Special Use Airspace.
FAASTeam CFI workshops provide an opportunity for Flight Instructors, Designated Pilot Examiners (DPE), and Aviation Safety Inspectors to meet and collaborate for safety.
These FAASTeam CFI Workshops are planned in cycles. A cycle takes 24 months to complete and consists of 8 quarterly workshop events.
Each CFI Workshop includes two modules of instruction and a time period for CFIs and DPEs to interact and learn from each other. CFIs that meet the minimum participation in all 8 workshops within the current two year cycle will receive nationally recognized WINGS credit and may be eligible to renew their non-expired Flight Instructor Certificate.
Attendees will be supplied with documents that attest to his/her FAASTeam CFI Workshop attendance.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
CFI renewal based on attendance at FAASTeam CFI Workshops will terminate upon completion of module #8 on September 30, 2012. To be eligible for CFI renewal, participants must complete all 8 modules prior to September 30, 2012. There will be no make up workshops following that date.
