Additional Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s):

The FAA Safety Team wishes to thank Sheltair and General Manager Russell Lawliss for providing us with a venue for this important meeting.

Efficient operations in controlled airspace is really all about you, the Air Traffic Controllers, and good communications. There are times when we are required to be in contact with Air Traffic Control (ATC) and more times when communicating with ATC is optional. Even when contacting ATC is not required, pilots are encouraged to make the best use of the services available from ATC. Consider about the advantages; another set of eyes watching you, other traffic, the weather conditions, an increased level of situational awareness, altitude and terrain advisories, and the ability to instantly communicate with professionals in case of an emergency.

Airborne and Surface Deviations continue to be a problem and a significant risk to aviation safety. The experts in Air Traffic will provide you with guidance and information that can greatly reduce the possibility of airborne pilot deviations, such as straying into restricted airspace. ATC traffic advisories will alert you to the presence of traffic that may not be visible, giving you time to avoid a mid-air collision.

Featured speaker Dick Ferno is a retired Burlington Vermont Air Traffic Controller, currently an active CFI, and can see the "big picture" from both prospectives. Dick has a lifetime of experiences from the Cab and the Cockpit to share with you. His seminars are lively and informative.

Join Dick for this important and informative meeting. Please register in advance on line, there is no obligation, no cost, and by doing so we can prepare for your comfort and ensure your WINGs Credit.
