The 2010 FAASTeam Safety Stand Down is a cooperative effort between the FAASTeam, the Fantasy of Flight Aviation Museum, the FAA Office of Runway Safety, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA,) King Schools, Sporty's Pilot Ship and Tulsa Tech.

In Orange County, your FAASTeam will host the 2010 Safety Stand Down on April 17, registration at 8:30 am, program begins promptly at 9:00 am. Held at the Costa Mesa Neighborhood Community Center, this event is designed to ensure a standard FAASTeam message is given to the entire nation. The program consists of four one hour presentations with discussions to follow on each of the following topics: 

       1. Loss of Control 
       2. Surface Deviations 
       3. Managing the Risk of Part 91 flying by the numbers. 
       4. Get your aircraft ready for summer flying… Maintenance a pilot can do. 
 
Each presentation will include a nationally produced video, an industry video on the particular subject followed by an open discussion of the subject. We have four experienced local flight instructors who will each lead one of the topic discussions.

Here's an opportunity for you to learn, express your ideas and discuss safety solutions with colleagues and friends. You are welcome to bring flying buddies, friends curious about flying and especially student pilots.

Light refreshments will be served - all are welcome.
