Title:
CFIT and Plan Continuation Bias
Topic:
Human Biases May Compromise Effective Pilot Decision-Making and Lead to CFIT Accidents
Date and Time:
Saturday, April 6, 2024, starting at 10:30 Eastern Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Dennis Miller, CFI, and 2023 National FAASTeam Representative of the Year
Brief Description:

Human biases often weigh the value of information according to pre-conceived beliefs. Pilots should be aware of this tendency and commit to operating within established standards, limitations and norms.

Developing personal minimums, periodic performance reviews with a flight instructor and objective in-flight assessments help to ensure that flight operations are conducted safely and lessen the chance of CFIT accidents.

This will be a 90-minute seminar.
