Thunderstorms contain hazards to all aircraft, both large and small. With the summer and fall thunderstorm season in full operation a good review of thunderstorms, their unseen and usually misunderstood causes, and tips to avoid them is recommended for all pilots.
Speaker Steve Shackelford is 2006 LAX FSDO Aviation Safety Counselor of the Year. He is a Terminal Operations and Procedures Specialist for the FAA and an Aviation Weather Instructor for Mount San Antonio College and Long Beach City College and a frequent speaker on aviation weather topics.
