Title:
August Safety Topic of the Month - Use of WX Information
Topic:
Enhance Flight Safety Through Effective Use of Weather Information
Speaker(s):
Timothy Mitchell, FAASTeam Representative, DPE
Brief Description:
In this electronic age pilots have multiple weather sources available to receive preflight and in-flight weather briefings. Pilots must interpret large amounts of data to make sense of the weather being reported and plan their flights accordingly, while leaving options available for any unforeseen weather conditions. This presentation will discuss preflight weather self briefings, weather pitfalls from using multiple services, and how to develop risk strategies using en-route weather updates.
