Join the AOPA Air Safety Institute’s Adam Rarey for a practical look at operating in and around the Washington, D.C. Special Flight Rules Area (SFRA). We’ll review the FAA’s mandatory online training, equipment needs, and key procedures for both VFR and IFR flights within a 60 nautical mile radius centered on the DCA VOR/DME. Learn how to navigate the SFRA, handle airport-specific procedures, and respond to emergencies—all with a focus on safety and preventing unauthorized incursions.
