Brief Description:

This annual aviation safety seminar will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Big Bend Community College Flight Training Center building(bld# 3000).  Sign-in begins at 9:15am, and the teaching program will begin at 9:30am.  There will be a one-hour lunch break between 12:00pm-1:00pm, and the program ends at 4:00pm.  Coffee and refreshments will be provided and you may bring a sack lunch or eat off campus during the noon lunch hour.

The seminar will review three major and essential areas in safe piloting knowledge: aircraft performance, aeronautical decision making, and regulatory requirements. The seminar consist of your involvement in planning a cross country flight and applying the specific elements found within these three areas. Content being taught will be reinforced though self-evaluation questions and open discussion between the presenters and the participants

Pilots who attend will fulfill the basic knowledge credits (K1, K2, K3) toward the requirements for completion of a Phase of Wings in the Pilot Proficiency Program.  Both knowledge and flight activity credits are needed to complete a phase of Wings. So remember to schedule your Wings Flight activities with a CFI to earn flight credits. Pilots who  complete a Basic phase of FAA Wings will satisfy FAA requirements for a Flight Review.

The seminar will also cover the ground subjects required by "Flying Farmers Annual Proficiency Training".
