Brief Description:
VMC Question of the Month: In many mountainous and remote areas, it can be difficult to contact FSS to make position reports, open or close flight plans, or get updated weather information. What communications resources can be used when direct radio communication with an FSS is not available?
IMC Question of the month: For an IFR flight terminating at 1A5, if you were not able to reach Atlanta Center via radio on the ground to cancel your flight plan, is it necessary to cancel at all? What other option(s) would be available to cancel?
We view and discuss short videos presenting flight scenarios that any VFR pilot can learn from others. Members discuss short videos and how they would respond to the given scenario. This is an open Forum for free ideas and we all learn from Shared Experience! All are welcome to join in the discussion. Please register to get WINGS credit towards your next Flight Review for attending this event. These meetings use real-world scenarios to engage members, and allow a free exchange of information that improves awareness and skills. The intent is to create a community of pilots willing to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety, and build proficiency. Through the EAA VMC club programs, visual flight rule pilots have improved their proficiency, and they love it.
