Title:
Minneapolis TRACON (Departure and Approach) Tour For Instrument Rated and Instrument Students
Topic:
Enjoy Your Mother’s Day With Our Controller Friends in MSP TRACON (Departure and Approach).
Speaker(s):
Jennifer (J-Lo) Lobdell
Brief Description:
We will be hosted by a controller who will share an overview of the national airspace system. We will then be able to visit TRACON to see the radar screens and see how the MSP sectors are distributed. You’ll be able to ask questions about how hand-offs work, why sometimes you need to change frequencies and sometimes you don’t, understand how to best practice approaches, when to get VFR flight following or file, how to avoid getting a phone number, who is it you talk to when you call the number in the Chart Supplement to get a clearance, when can we shoot the RNAV 32 into KMIC and so much more. If time permits, we can head up to MSP Tower to see the view.
**US CITIZENS ONLY**
**No phones or cameras allowed**
**Stairs are required for the tour; the tower is not ADA accessible**
This tour is sure to “sell-out” please do not sign up if you may have other plans. I will keep a short wait-list in case anyone has to cancel last minute due to being, sick, etc. Please email ambyrdesquibel@yahoo.com if you’d like to be added to the list.
Please be prompt at 12:50pm, our guide will meet us at 1pm. Give yourself extra time to find the gate. We will meet in the parking lot to chit-chat introduce ourselves while we wait for our guide.
