We normally depend upon scheduled maintenance and our walk around and preflight inspections to identify problems, or potential problems. Thankfully the system works really well! But, what do we do when it doesn't?  What do we do when a cable jams? What do we do when the elevator no longer is controllable? Can we fly without it, or rudders, or ailerons?

Why Not Be Prepared?

Why not think about some solutions we as pilots can use to save the day?

Let's put the odds in our favor!

We'll review some commercial events as well as GA; and we'll spotlight procedure you can use in a 172.

Space is Limited--Please RESERVE HERE ONLINE or contact Richard Mend prior to the event by TELEPHONE @ (818) 636-1021 or Email - mendaviation@sbcglobal.net for reservations.

Note:

Pilot airspace deviations continue to be a major risk in the national airspace system.  To reduce the chance that you might be involved in an airspace deviation incident, you are highly encouraged to take an on-line learning center course on www.faasafety.gov.  Or search the learning library for associated guidance on airspace incursions.  Remember, safe and prudent airmen have superior situational awareness, and have a plan to keep it that way.

Thanks!  A message from your local FAASTeam.
