Topic:
How NOAA Uses ForeFlight in Their Operations. An Interactive and Insightful Seminar.
Date and Time:
Saturday, April 20, 2019, starting at 11:00 Eastern Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Lt. Lindsey Norman - NOAA Pilot
Brief Description:

NOAA uses ForeFlight, just as many of us do!  Learn from their tips and techniques! This is an interactive seminar, so if you have ForeFlight, bring your tablet along and join in!  If you don’t, come anyway and learn!

NOTE:  Be sure your iPad is fully charged and that you have cellular service as there are limited charging facilities and limited Internet Service in the Seminar room.

The FAASTeam Seminars at KPCM are held in conjunction with EAA Chapter 1178  VMC and IMC Club meetings. This provides organized "Hangar Flying" focused on building a safety consciousness among pilots. Since these seminars are part of the FAA Safety Program, these meetings provide informative presentations along with WINGS credit.

Pilots of all experience levels are welcome, as are non-pilots that are interested in aviation and aviation safety. Membership in an EAA Chapter, or an EAA VMC or IMC Club is not required to participate, but is highly recommended.

For more information and to be part of the event, visit FAASAFETY.GOV and register online. Due to the limited number of seats, register early.

Additional Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s):

Lt. Lindsey Norman is a pilot for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and an experienced public speaker. Her interest in aviation was initially sparked as a child watching news stories about “hurricane hunters” – daring pilots and planes flying through some of earth’s most dangerous weather. During college, she had the opportunity to intern at NOAA’s Aircraft Operations Center in Tampa, FL and learned about the NOAA Commissioned Officer Corps and NOAA’s wide-ranging scientific missions at sea, on land, and in the air.

With a desire to serve her country in a unique capacity, Lindsey applied for the NOAA Commissioned Officer Corps. While serving on a NOAA ship, she was selected for the aviation program and attended flight school to obtain her private single- and multi-engine, commercial multiengine, and instrument ratings. She is currently flying the Twin Otter and Turbo Commander in a variety of missions including marine mammal surveys, air chemistry research, coastal mapping, and snow survey/soil moisture analysis. When she’s not flying, Lt. Norman works at NOAA’s new Aircraft Operations Center location in Lakeland, FL

This is a Fly-in event with adequate aircraft parking, as well as, vehicle parking near the seminar location.

We want to thank our sponsors: Hillsborough County Aviation Authority (HCAA); Atlas Aviation at Plant City Airport; EAA Chapter 1178 (KPCM).
