Brief Description:

Bill Bongle, a drone flight instructor and owner/operator of Titletown Drones, will provide an introduction to the world of Unmanned Aircraft, often referred to as “drones”.  His presentation will provide a brief overview of the regulations which apply to recreational and commercial drone operators, as well as upcoming changes in drone regulations and the impact these changes will have on the national airspace system.

Drone sightings near airports and manned aircraft are a serious concern to everyone. With the variety of the drones available to consumers, it is helpful to see examples up close. The presentation will include a display of some of the most popular drones on the market and an explanation of their capabilities. Bill will also discuss the latest technological advancements and how drones are being used for public safety.

This presentation will introduce you to the world of Unmanned Aircraft, often referred to as “drones”.  The presenter will provide a brief overview of the regulations which apply to recreational and commercial drone operators, including Part 107.  We will discuss the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018, the upcoming changes in drone regulations and the impact these changes will have on the national airspace system.

About the presenter:

Bill Bongle is a 29-year police veteran, rising to the rank of Captain before retiring from the Green Bay Police Department in 2015. Bill is a Certified Remote Pilot and a drone flight instructor. He has worked closely with the FAA and legal analysts to develop training programs geared specifically for commercial drone operators, municipal governments and public safety agencies. He owns and operates Titletown Drones, a Wisconsin-based company which provides training and equipment to commercial and public safety drone operators across the nation. In 2013 Bill founded the Green Bay Area Drone User Group which has grown to over 300 members.

This event is co-hosted by the Brown County Civil Air Patrol Senior Squadron and Greater Green Bay Area EAA Chapter 651.  The hosts and FAASTeam thank Jet Air Group for continued support
