Brief Description:

Learn about the latest technological developments in the areas of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and helicopter technologies such as enhanced helicopter vision systems (EHVS) and helicopter flight-data monitoring (HFDM) from the best perspective, the air. This session will showcase via audio, video, and graphics a collection of past, current, and future flight-test and simulation research activities featuring helicopters and drones. Showcasing efforts undertaken by the FAA’s William J. Hughes Technical Center, the session will focus on the outcomes of these experimental studies, present an update on related USHST Helicopter-Safety Enhancements, and provide best practices for conducting flight tests and simulation trials that attendees can utilize in their own operations to reduce risk and enhance safety.
