Title:
Winter Flying in Florida - Wrong Surface Landings and Stalls and Spins
Topic:
Florida Winter Flying - Wrong Surface Landings - Stall Spin Myths
Date and Time:
Thursday, January 24, 2019, starting at 19:00 Eastern Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Rock Rockcastle, Rich Burns, Sarah Israel
Brief Description:

Winter flying in Florida is different than summer flying. Come and hear Capt. Sarah tell you why it is important to know how cooler temperatures could affect your safe flying.

Data shows that 85-percent of wrong surface landings involve general aviation (GA) aircraft and 89-per-cent of those events occur during daytime hours in VFR conditions. Rich will discuss what contributes to wrong surface landings and how to prevent these errors.

Stall/Spins are the primary cause of loss of control accidents. Rock will discuss scenarios involving traffic pattern accidents, and the 12 myths about stalls and spins.

Attendee participation is encouraged to share their experiences and knowledge.
