Title:
Aviation Gray Areas and Misconceptions plus Operations at Towered and Non-Towered Airports
Topic:
Two seminar topics to discuss, Aviation Gray Areas and Misconceptions followed by Operations at Towered and Non-Towered Airports
Date and Time:
Thursday, January 17, 2019, starting at 19:00 Eastern Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Diego Alfonso, Sr
Brief Description:

The Treasure Coast FAASTeam is proud to host a two-hour seminar presented by Mr. Diego Alfonso, Sr.

The first topic to discuss will be “Aviation Gray Areas and Misconceptions”.  Why is this important? Remember what you don’t know may hurt you, but “what you think you know, and you don’t may hurt you even more.  We will talk about how misconceptions are born, why they abound so much; learn about the two most important questions to ask in our flying careers and how to recognize a misconception and or gray area. Come join us and bring your questions on anything that you are not clear about.

The second topic of discussion is “Operations at Towered and Non-Towered Airports”. This presentation is based on the new AC-60-66B that was issued in March 2018. It calls attention to regulatory requirements, recommended operations, and communications procedures for operating at an airport without a control tower or an airport with a control tower that operates only part time. It shows the new recommended traffic patterns procedures, communications phraseology, and operational procedures for use by aircraft. Operations at controlled airports will be addressed also.

The Orlando FSDO-15, along with your Treasure Coast FAASTeam, encourages all aviation minded people to attend our every third Thursday of the month safety seminars.  It doesn’t matter the certificate or rating you hold, if you know someone with an interest in aviation, whether it’s  our mechanic, another pilot, your right seat buddy or somebody with an interest in aviation safety, please bring that friend with you to one of our next seminars.
