Title:
Rotorcraft Safety Update
Topic:
Rotorcraft Safety Update
Date and Time:
Wednesday, December 5, 2018, starting at 19:00 Eastern Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Casey Rice
Brief Description:

This program will review the leading top 5 causes for rotorcraft, with an emphasis on visibility.

1.       Loss of Control

2.       Strike

3.       Visibility

4.       System Component Failure

5.       Fuel

While evaluating accident case studies, we will break down Pilot Judgment and Decision Making. Go No/Go decision making as well as Risk Management. We will have real world examples and methods on how to calculate these decisions, as well as some industry equipment and methods on how to prevent some of these accidents.

Accidents are almost always a chain of events. We will be looking at the chains to identify where and how we can break the link and prevent the accident.

Along with case studies and aeronautical decision making, we will look at what Part 135 operators are doing and how their regulations are changing to better combat these causes of accidents.
