We're going to the Bahamas! We're leaving from Providence, Rhode Island (KPVD) and heading to Stella Maris, The Bahamas (MYLS). With the speed and range of our Socata Trinidad, that makes it a two-leg flight, so we're going to stop at Flagler County, Florida (KFIN) and spend the night, Then we will then continue to Stella Maris. That is over a lot of water! You definitely want to add to the preflight checklist, check the raft for leaks. Our MEL includes SPF50 sunblock and your Speedo.
Of course, this is an IMC Club meeting, so you know things won't go according to the plan. Weather is happening... are you going to trust your NexRad or Stormscope?
Our moderator is Jill Mann, CFII, of Westosha Flying Club (KENW).
The IMC Club’s purpose is to promote instrument flying, proficiency, and safety. The intent is to create a community of pilots willing to share their perspective, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety, and build proficiency in instrument flying. An IFR rating is not needed to participate in this excellent forum where we think through the various options from the comfort of your chair, firmly on the ground... before it is you sitting in the cockpit.
We meet monthly when pilots (and would-be pilots) network and share knowledge and experiences to keep our head in the game.
