Brief Description:
Last year the FAASTeam led a nationwide, in-depth discussion of current issues that are central to the aviation community.  More than 350 CFIs and DPEs in 38 venues across the nation participated.  At this informative event we’ll report on the results of that effort.  This is a forum so your participation is essential to success.  We really need to hear from you so be sure to join in the discussion.  Click on the link below and register TODAY!

This spring, the Teterboro FAASTeam will host a 3 hour professional development seminar for all Instructors to discuss new and recurring issues in Flight and Ground Training.

BRINGING PROFESSIONAL FLYING TECHNIQUES TO THE GA COCKPIT: As a career corporate pilot, Ryan Ferguson (ATP/CFI) will draw the connection between “flying like the pros” and a professional approach to flying and teaching for flight instructors. Whether you are an instructor building time towards an ATP certificate, or are a career instructor, these techniques will not only carry forward in your students’ careers; they’ll be powerful tools to advance your own skill set.

FLYING THE PATTERN: Building on Ryan's presentation, Don Argintar will discuss instructional, aerodynamic and performance issues that arise when flying "the pattern". Flight instructors are expected to teach with equal facility from a multitude of topic areas. Often, the dots connecting these various topics are left for the student to work out. We will present some techniques to integrate these knowledge areas with basic stick and rudder skills, and discuss ways to gently integrate risk mitigation into the student's lexicon.

Flight Instructors, Ground Instructors, Designated Pilot Examiners, and Instructors in training are welcome and encouraged to attend. Join your flight instructor colleagues and take an active role in improving safety in flight training!
