Title:
FAASTeam Rep Initial Training
Topic:
Initial Training for New FAASTeam Representatives; Make-Up Annual Recurrent Training
Date and Time:
Saturday, July 7, 2018, starting at 09:00 Eastern Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
FPMs Tony Alfaya, Bob Jex
Brief Description:

All new FAASTeam Representatives and Applicants must undergo one-time Iniial Repesentative Training.  Initial training is more detailed than refresher training, so designated Rep's may also attend at their option.  Training is specific to the Orlando FSDO, but attendance from any other District will meet the requirements for Initial Training.

Training topics are derived from FAA Order 8900.1, Volume 15 and the FAASTeam Representative Manual.  FAASTeam Program Managers Tony Alfaya and Bob Jex will lead a review of items that Rep's need to know, and will share tips on ways to enhance your effectiveness as Rep's!

We will break for lunch.  You may bring your own meal or head to any of several nearby establishments off campus to eat.

The FPM's hold Rep Annual Training sessions throughout the year.  We are planning annual training events for 23 Aug (FSDO), and 6 Dec (DAB); dates and venues subject to change.  Attendance at any of these sessions will satisfy Annual Reftesher Training requiements; only one is needed per year.

Location of Seminar:
Orlando Field Office (aka FAA Safety Center)
4425 Sun 'n Fun Rd.
Auditorium
Lakeland, FL 33811
Directions to Venue:

From I-4, take Exit 25 (County Line Rd.) south to a left turn (east) at Medulla Rd.  Take Medulla Rd. to the main entrance at Sun-n-Fun. Your landmark is the Thunderbirds T-33 jet on a pedestal. Slow down, go straight ahead; do not take the sweeping curve to the right!  The road now becomes James C. Ray Rd. (ex-Doolittle Rd.).  Proceed under 10 mph and with caution through the gate and go another 0.2 mi, approaching the airport security fence straight ahead of you.  Turn left (north) at Sun 'n Fun Rd. and proceed another 0.2 mi.  The Orlando Field Office (aka FAA Safety Center) is the last permanent structure on the left.  Normally, park along west side of the OFO.  If Sun-n-Fun is hosting another large event, alternate parking procedures may be in effect.  These will be announced at the event.
