Did you know KPAO has the shortest runway for an airport with an FAA tower in the United States? And it is among the busiest general aviation airports in the United States, with #1 rank belongs to Van Nuys Airport (KVNY). In the bay area, it is the third busiest airport with an average of 172,000 operations.
Most of us have used this airport for training and we have always felt welcomed. It offers one of the best busy training environments for general aviation pilot to experience and we feel fortunate to have it so near.
So how can we continue to enjoy this privilege and at the same time build our radio skills, anticipate what the controller expects of us and enhance safety?
Join Brian Fisher Air Traffic Manager for KPAO Air Traffic Control Tower as he will discuss:
- 10 Things Controllers Want Every Pilot to Know
- “Unable” and when to use it
- Making sure Pilots Take Full Responsibility for the Safety of Their Flight
- The differences between an FAA tower and a contract tower
- Tips for improving our shared use of the radio
- The latest changes in ATC radio phraseology
- What a Controller Can Do, and What a Controller Can’t Do
Bring your questions as this will be a great chance to interact with ATC.
