Title:
ADS-B - What You Need to Know
Topic:
This seminar will discuss what ADS-B is, and its benefits.
Date and Time:
Monday, December 11, 2017, starting at 19:30 Pacific Standard Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Matt Debski, CFI
Brief Description:

The FAA is in the process of implementing a new system called Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B for short), which is designed to replace the ground-based radar system used by ATC to track air traffic throughout the US.

ADS-B is a foundational component of the FAA's NextGen system for improving the safety and efficiency of the National Airspace.  By January 2020, ADS-B Out capability will be required in all airspace where a Mode C transponder is required today.  Today, ADS-B In receivers offer free traffic and weather information.

This seminar will discuss what ADS-B is and its benefits.  We'll take a look at how you can take advantage of ADS-B In capabilities today as an aircraft renter and important limitations.  We'll also discuss some options for aircraft owners to equip for the 2020 ADS-B Out mandate.
