Additional Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s):

This year, we have a different day of the week (Friday) and the different location (Maryland Heights Center).  The seminar runs from 8:00 am until 4 pm on October 20, 2017.  See below for details.

Also, there is a different format this year.  In years past, we have presented many hours of safety ideas and information to pilots.  This year, we are adding in afternoon breakout sessions specifically designed for pilots (operations), maintenance personnel (maintainers) and for management personnel each.  So, there are three breakout rooms in the afternoon after the SugarFire barbecue lunch.  The agenda is attached.

Like years past, we will have a great array of presenters with both updates and new thought-provoking material for you to take with you.  This year, we are adding to that a vender area to mill around in during the breaks to speak to aviation companies about what they have to offer.  We are also inviting helicopter manufacturers to bring in rotorcraft for display on the Maryland Height Center’s north parking lot.  That leads me to add that you may fly in to this event; we need to know you’re coming and we have to provide the venue management with proof of insurance.  Call Phil Dixon or Stan Rose for more info (numbers below).  Attendees for the full day will receive all the basic knowledge and advanced knowledge WINGS credits for a flight review (additional flight credits needed, of course).

Panera Bread Company bagels and coffee will be the morning treat and lunch will be catered by SugarFire Barbecue, a local favorite.  Snacks and meals are sponsored by Helicopter Safety Alliance (thanks Stan Rose).  Door prizes have been rounded up by HeliSat, Inc. of Moscow Mills, MO (Thanks, Bill Hopper).

This year’s venue address is Maryland Heights Center, 2300 McKelvey Road, Maryland Heights, Missouri.  The new building is on the west side of I-270 just north of the Dorsett Road exit.  This new venue is high tech and a very comfortable, convenient place for our safety seminar.

You can help us out by going to www.faasafety.gov, finding this event on the seminars page, and registering (CE0378354).  That way, we’ll have enough lunch for everyone attending.  As usual, attendance is free.

More questions, fly-in instructions or info on where to stay the night?  Call Phil Dixon (STL FSDO) at 314-890-4818 or Stan Rose (Helicopter Safety Alliance) at 833-423-7233
info @ helicoptersafetyalliance.com.

We hope to see you at the Midwest Regional Helicopter Safety Seminar this Friday, October 20 between 7:30 am and 8:00 am.

Thanks for your attention!

Phil
