Title:
Monthly IMC Club Meeting - Non Radar Approach to Lebanon NH
Topic:
Mastering the Art of Instrument Navigation - Non-radar Approach to Lebanon NH
Date and Time:
Tuesday, August 1, 2017, starting at 19:00 Eastern Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Jan Squillace - IMC Club Coordinator
Brief Description:

You are flying an Angel Flight patient from Boston to Lebanon, NH (KLEB).  You choose the appropriate approach based on the weather broadcast.

As you prepare to start the approach, ATC notifies you that the winds have shifted and assign a different approach than you were expecting.  What do you do?

What are the options? What are the considerations? Oh, and "Radar service is terminated", so vectors-to-final are not one of the options.

The IMC Club, through its nationwide chapters, provides organized “hangar flying” focused on building proficiency in instrument flying. Believing that safety and proficiency are developed through education and experience, monthly meetings use real world scenarios to engage our members and allow them to share and build their experience. This meeting is for IFR pilots, IFR students and anyone thinking about flying in the clouds. Bring your iPad or other device to view instrument procedures.  Click on the link below and register TODAY!

What is the IMC Club?
IMC Club is the brain child of Radek Wyrzykowski; a Master Certified Flight Instructor Instrument and Multi-Engine Instructor. As a flight instructor in Norwood, Mass., Radek developed a volunteer mentor program to help instrument pilots improve their proficiency, and they loved it.

What is the purpose of the IMC club?
At IMC Club, our purpose is to promote instrument flying, proficiency and safety. Along with IFR flying and monthly local chapter meetings, we offer a resource-rich website which provides an electronic experience base.

Our intent is to create a community of pilots in order to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety and build proficiency in instrument flying. IMC Club Chapters offer monthly meetings in which pilots can network and share knowledge and experiences.

Do you need to bring anything?
First, bring your thoughts or story and be willing to share them with the group. This meeting is very interactive. Participation by the group is a key element to the IMC Club meeting.

Others have found it helpful to bring along a copy of their flight manual, GPS manual and charts. If you navigate with an iPad, bring it along.

Who can attend?
You don’t need an instrument rating to attend. This meeting is open to all current, non-current, and future instrument pilots.

You can find more information about the IMC club at http://imcclubs.cloverpad.org/.
